MACEDON. Cassandraea. Commodus, 177-192. Diassarion (Copper, 22 mm, 6.10 g, 7 h). IM L AVR COM Laurate, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right. Rev. COL IV-L AVG CASS Zeus standing facing, wearing long chiton, head right, holding grape bunch with right hand and his garments with left. Cf. AMNG III 14 var. (eagle). RPC IV online -. Varbanov -. An apparently unpublished variety of a very rare type. The obverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, very fine.
